Here are a few more of my pix from Petit Le Mans.   This has always been one of my favorite sports car races, and even though the event is on “another network,” I was happy to be able to head down to Road Atlanta this week to see some friends and some of the coolest cars anywhere….One of the Dyson Lolas emerges from under the Audi bridge at Road AtlantaOne of the best parts of Petit Le Mans is the invasion of quality teams and cars from the Le Mans Series in Europe. The event is part of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, and the top 8 qualifiers, including this #7 Peugeot 908 that won the pole, came from overseasNot a lot of room inside the #1 Audi Sport R18 TDI for former Le Mans winner Timo Bernhard56 entries meant near-constant traffic on the 2.54 mile track. Here the #7 Peugeot driven by Anthony Davidson tries to go inside the #16 Dyson Lola. The Turn 10A & 10B complex at Road Atlanta was a great spot to check out the actionThe LMP Challenge class had a bunch of good-looking cars, including this Oreca from Genoa Racing. The twin Extreme Speed Motorsport Ferrari F458 Italias were both sponsored by Tequila Patron, and were the best looking in the GT categoryOne of the new teams to appear at Petit was United Autosports....American-owned and English-based, the #22 car competed in the LMP2 classMy good friend Justin Bell was one of the three drivers of this pretty AF Corse Ferrari F430A pair of prototypes scream downhill at nearly 200mph towards the very scary Turn 12    » original news
