STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR SENDING YOUR CAR ADVERT

1. Take a photo of your car using your mobile phone

2. Select to send your picture via MMS to:07725 20 20 20

3. In the subject line of your MMS message type: ADVERT followed by your car registration number

For example: ADVERT H12 0J0

4. In the description field or actual body of the message where you can enter text, please enter the advert copy which you wish to appear on your actual advert on the website

For example: Central locking, electric windows, alloys, full service history, low mileage, good condition, great little run around!

5. You will receive a confirmation text to confirm that your car advert has been published.

What is MMS?

MMS stands for Multimedia Messaging Service. It is a service that allows you to send still images, videos or audio clips with a standard SMS message.

MMS can be sent from phone to phone, phone to email or email to phone.

Do I need WAP enabled to send an MMS?

No. Your MMS is just a messaging utility and you do not need a WAP browsing utility to use it. MMS is simply sending a text with a little extra image or clip along with it.

Does it matter what network provider I am with if I want to send an MMS?

No. MMS is a standardised service provided by all the major phone providers so network to network messaging is as easy as sending a normal text.

Does it matter what phone I have?

If your phone has a camera, then the likelihood is that MMS is possible.

What if I can’t send an MMS message?

What content does MMS support?

MMS can support JPEG, GIF, text, AMR voice, video H263 as well as some other formats. Although not all phones support all the same formats of MMS, the majority of phone providers have devised an MMS Conformance Document that means they all try and support the same formats as well as making the MMS, regardless of the format, recognisable by a phone handset and then instructions to process the MMS can be followed accordingly.

MMS speed depends on the phone and the file size. Some handset providers limit the size of the MMS sent. The recipient is not charged and the text is not delayed as they will have been unaware they were being sent a message.
