MANUFACTURER OVERVIEW
Toyota was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937, where it separated itself from the family business to become Toyota Motor Co. Toyota has expended from that point and has grown to become a large multinational and became the single largest seller of cars at beginning of 2007, and the single most profitable automaker in 2006.
The world head quarters of the group are in Aichi, Japan, with offices in Tokyo and Nagoya. Toyota brands include Scion and Lexus and a majority in Daihatsu, and 8.7% of Fuji Heavy Industries, which manufacture Subaru. Toyota also aquired 5.9% of Isuzu Motors Ltd in 2006.
