MANUFACTURER OVERVIEW
Skoda was founded in 1895 as Laurin & Klement. 1905 cars were being produced by the firm. During the First World War Skoda was engaged in war production.
Post WWII, Skoda entered Western Europe and began to supply reliable affordable vehicle options. This gave a poor brand image as competitors developed through the years to more exciting brands. In 1991, Skoda became the fourth brand of the Volkswagen Group. The western perception of Skoda, which had been poor, was revitalized through the marketing and production skills of the established Volkswagen set up.
Skoda have made 60 plus models and currently have 4 models available for consumers.
