The Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is the 6th largest automaker in Japan and the 17th largest in the world. Founded in 1970 by Takishi Nikiosha, Mitsubishi, in the pursuit of continued expansion, have had alliances with many foreign partners in the years. This culminated when they jointly owned the largest automobile manufacturing plant in Europe with Volvo.

Mitsubishi have stakes in off-road and circuit racing events as well as relations to film product placement through a 30 year relationship with Jackie Chan.
