Isuzu Motors Ltd is a Japanese car, commercial vehicle and heavy truck manufacturing company based in Tokyo and founded in 1937.
In 1999 General Motors raised its stokehold to 49% in Isuzu to gain control over the company. This has been followed with a gradual pull out of the American market due to slowing sales which is due to complete by 2009.
Toyota also have a stakehold within Isuzu and are in talks to develop environmentally friendly commercial vehicles.
