MANUFACTURER OVERVIEW
Citroen was founded in 1919 by Andre Citroen and since 1976 has been part of the PSA Peugeot Citroen headquartered in Paris.
The Peugeot and Citroen merger talks only commenced after Citreon had previously partially merged with Panhard. Post that, Fiat bought a 49% sharehold in Citroen, and through this, Fiat purchased Maserati in 1968. But talks between Peugeot and Citreon had broken down in 1965 and were not resolved until 1976.
