BMW HISTORY
BMW (Bavarian Motor Works) is an independent German manufacturer, which was founded in 1916. BMW produces high performance and premium cars and motorcycles and is the current parent company for the MINI and Rolls Royce.
BMW AG bought the British Rover Group, which included Rover, Land Rover, MG, Morris and Austin). This lasted from 1994-2000.
BMW historically produced aircraft engines, but was forced to stop post WWI. The company began to produce motorcycles in 1923 and cars in 1928. Since then BMW have made a large number of different models. 13 models are currently in large-scale production.
