Engines
The A5 comes with a range of both petrol and diesel engines with the choice between the 1.8-litre, 2.0-litre, 3.2-litre, and 4.2-litre V8 petrol engines. There is also the choice of three diesel engines with the 2.0-litre, 2.7-litre and 3.0-litre.
Performance & Economy
The economy of the A5 varies depending on the engine choice. The 2.0-litre diesel manages a cool 55.4mpg followed by the 2.7-litre managing 44.1mpg and finally the powerful 3.0-litre attaining 42.8mpg. The four petrol engines don't perform as well when it comes to fuel efficiency with the 2.0-litre engine performing the most efficiently achieving the same as the 2.7-litre diesel with 44.1mpg. The 4.2 V8 though barely manages to scrape into the lower 20's with 23mpg. The petrol models are quick though especially the 3.2 and 4.2-litre engines, the latter used in the RS5.

Introduction
The A5 is a car that fills its driver with passion thanks to its exquisite and sensuous lines, sophisticated interior, perfectly balanced handling and a range of performance orientated engines.
Exterior & Interior
The A5 is slightly longer and sportier looking than its sibling the A4 as it's the first model to be based on the modular longitudinal platform by Audi. The Coupe has ample room up front for both the driver and passenger and a boot space of 455 litre's, which is big enough for several travel bags. Folding down rear seats will significantly increase this space. There has however been a compromise in increasing the boot space which comes in the form of very little legroom for any back seat passengers. Audi has once again proved why they are at the top of the market when it comes to quality interiors as the A5 comes with a unique look and feel and well constructed components. The wraparound styled dash also adds to the illusion of more space in the cabin. There is also the option of Audi's 4-wheel-drive system in most of the models.
The A5 comes with a lot of components as standard such as climate control, electric front windows, 17-inch alloy wheels, mp3 CD player and electrically heated and adjustable wing mirrors. The SE trim, the level up from standard, comes with automatic wipers and lights, parking sensors, climate control and leather upholstery. Later models of the A5 come with engines that have a stop-start system as standard to help save fuel and reduce emissions.
Drive
Overall the A5 is a lovely car to drive and most owners will really enjoy the experience. Audi have gone out of their way to improve the handling of the A5 by completely revamping the steering which has improved the handling considerably in corners and helped to combat under steer. The manual gearbox is perfect but may transmit vibrations through to the driver but this is hardly noticeable and the automatic gearbox is wonderfully smooth. There is also the option of sport suspension, which hardens up the ride, but it does further help to improve the handling of the car.
Faults & Repairs
As of yet there are no significant problems with the A5 which is to be expected from Audi with their impeccable build quality. There have been a few reports of electrical faults with regards to the stereo and central locking.
