The used cars trade business has come in for some criticism due to the activities of some unscrupulous people who have got into this business to launder money and cheat people. So if you are offered a Lotus used car at a price that is much below market price, you need to be on your guard.
Similarly, you cannot take any overseas offers that are very tempting at face value. Though the seller may insist that it is a genuine offer and want you to remit the money into either a overseas account or transportation company, it is very likely that you might lose your money and won’t get hold of any car.
You must also be aware of anybody who wants payment in cash as this indicates they are averse to a bank account and do not want the transaction to be traceable. Such guys might sweeten their offer by reducing the price so that you take the bait.
Yet another word of caution pertains to the sending of money to an overseas bank account. If you do not know the person, then it is better not to enter into such a transaction as the same would be difficult to follow up on in case of any issues.
