The recession has meant that not many UK residents would be able to purchase brand new cars. This has opened up the used car market and used UK cars are hitting the streets in big numbers. The other option is to offer a collateral in the form of the used car you are about to buy, so that the lender knows his money would not go to waste and he would be able to recover it without much of a problem.
