Before handing over your cheap used Austin car for a test drive to any prospective buyer, there are some things you must check and take care. They are as below:
• Check if the prospective buyer or driver has a driving license that is valid and recent. Without verifying the identity of the driver, do not give your car.
• Ensure you have photocopies of all important documents of your car safely stored at home.
• Make sure you accompany the driver or buyer on the test drive. This way you can be with the car and also explain the positive aspects of the vehicle to the buyer.
• Remove all valuable items from the car as they can often disappear and you cannot hold anybody accountable to it.
• Ensure you are always carrying your mobile with you.
• Make it clear to the buyer that he or she can have not more than half an hour of test drive if they are going to be driving alone. If you happen to accompany them, it should not take more than fifteen minutes.
• If possible, have a knowledgeable friend beside you when you are about to negotiate a sale. It is always better to have that moral confidence.
