Car Prices Rising with the Introduction of 60 plate Cars

The first of the new 60 plate cars are now being driven out of showrooms across the country, however statistics have shown that since September 2009 car buyers are paying significantly more for their vehicle after receiving lower levels of discount, which has made the 60 plate cars more expensive than last years 59 plate models.

Recent research by what car magazine shows that car buyers may now only be able to haggle off £1,779 from a new car which shows a dramatic decrease when compared with the £2,027 discount average in September 2009. Car buyers are looking at a whopping 12% drop in the typical saving.

However haggling with a dealership salesman isn´t something that all of us are accustom to, or good at, so to avoid this often awkward and tough negotiation it can sometimes be a good idea to look at alternative methods to find a new car. Some people will look for used vehicles where the used car price has already decreased and the rate of depreciation is slowing.

Shopping around when looking for a new vehicle is something that everybody has to become accustomed to and negotiating with a salesman is an art which can help people grab a bargain. Although it´s always desirable to have the newest vehicle money can buy it seems that the overall attitude to cars has changed. Cars have become far more price sensitive and making sure you have the newest car possible is now not always the primary concern.
