Compare Comparison Sites Communications Visitcars User Rating
ComparetheMarket.com
One of the best looking comparison sites but with the least functionality. Rather than using an engine to compare all your quotes you have to click through to individual applications....not really the point we don't think.
You get regular, creative but unrelevent communications once you leave your details.

Confused.com
The first comparison site to be created, rather old fashioned looking even after its recent revamp, but it is very user friendly, and able to save and compare your quotes. Unnecessary data capture on quotes though.

You get regular and rather dull communications once you leave your details.

GoCompare.com
Offers great looking 'save quote' funcitonality, but the system trips up easily, so it's better to be logged in if you are trying different variations to save money on insurance. Unnecessary data capture on quotes.
You get regular and rather spammy emails each month

Deep linking loans creative USwitch.com
This comparison site makes it easy to compare accurate quotes particularly around switching bills, but for insurance and loans, the offering is rather poor.
You get regular and interesting communications that help you save once you leave your details.

VISITCARS COMPARE COMPARISON SITES

Visitcars compare comparison sites using the following user rating guide on the table to the right. We believe that there are 2 main factors which you should look out for when you compare comparison sites to find a quote or switch bills.

Each comparison site is compared by ranking from 1-5 stars depending on the level of the sites usability and navigation for the user.

StarStarStarStarStar Poor site navigation and basic levels of site functionality to compare quotes

StarStarStarStarStar OK site structure with functionality to compare quotes and buy online from a small number of providers

StarStarStarStarStar Average site structure with varied functionality to compare quotes and buy online from a reasonable number of providers

StarStarStarStarStar Good site structure with great functionality and accurate quoting to buy online from a good selection of providers

StarStarStarStarStar Excellent site structure, very easy to navigate, fast accurate quoting functionality with a large selection of providers

COMPARISON SITE BENEFITS

Each comparison site makes money from the insurers and service providers that offer us the consumer their services. The comparison site does not make money from our expense, if we do choose to go with a provider after visiting a particular comparison site, the comparison site in question will earn commission money for recommending us.

It isn't cheaper to go directly to the insurer as you might think, and all providers offer pretty much the same rate as every other comparison site, so our advice is once you have found a comparison site that works for you, stick with it!

The only main benefit if you compare comparison sites, is that they don't all have exactly the same partners, so you may get a larger selection of options.

As all comparison sites are individual, there is a slight variation in the information that they ask you, and this could affect your insurance premiums.
