2 July 2008, Auto Express No.1,019 (p 58)
We were delighted to read the Breakdown Cover roadside assistance survey in the 2 July edition of Auto Express magazine. This nationwide survey gathered feedback from more than 32,000 readers, who placed GEM Motoring Assist at the top of an amazing line-up of 11 breakdown providers.
A combination of value for money, friendliness and helpfulness, general presentation and overall service saw GEM sweep the board with a score of 84.5% - more than three per cent ahead of Autonational, its nearest rival.
Auto Express’s analysis summed up its readers’ comments: “GEM was the only organisation to secure marks over four (80%) in every sector, showing the size of the firm is not always an indicator of quality.”
The RAC took third place (79.55%), with Green Flag in sixth place (78.32%), the AA seventh (78.25), Tesco ninth (77.18%), Direct Line 10th (76.60%) and Churchill at the bottom (75.32%). We particularly liked the comment about Tesco, with its position among the bottom three providers. ‘This goes to show,” say Auto Express, “that some services are best left to the experts. After all, GEM Motoring Assist doesn’t sell fruit and veg!” GEM are constantly striving to grow their membership in order to help support road safety initiatives, and for that we love them.
