There’s nearly always a surprise in a part exchange auction, and today’s blast from the past was this 69,000 mile 1966D Triumph Herald 12/50. (That’s the one with a sunroof.)
It looked well worn for its 44 years, but well kept and original and attracted some strong bids, eventually selling for £1,800, something like four times its original list price.
Though logistics mean that 60 reg part-exchanges aren’t coming through in any quantity yet, the cars looked cheap to me.

There were some reasonable buys in the fleet section too. An 07 Alfa GT 2.0JTS Turismo for £5,000, a 52k mile 07 Avensis T180 for £6,000, a 33k miles 2008/58 Audi A4 1.8TFSI 160 SE for £12,500, a 24k mile 09 Audi Q7 3.0TDI S-line for £33,400, a 22k mile 2007/57 Range Rover Sport 2.7TDV6 HSE for £27,400s.
And a 57k mile 06 Renault Megane 1.5DCI 106 Dynamique estate was cheap as chips at £3,000s.
Though a relatively rare 38k mile 08 Mondeo 2.0TDCI 130 Zetec automatic stood its ground well to sell for £9,600s
