With Japan all abuzz over the scheduled Dec. 20 launch there the first of the four EV Nissan plans to roll out buy 2015 - the Leaf hatchback - Reuters news service has prepared a package of stories about the company, its partner Renault and their grand plans.

There's really nothing new in it, but one point that is made is well worth repeating - Renault-Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn intends the two car makers to be the global leaders in EV technology and market share.


He said so, quite explicitly, to Nissan employees and members of the media last year when the Leaf was announced, he said it again in an exclusive piece he wrote for Edmunds' Inside Line, and nothing that's been said or done since changes things.
