German performance tuning house Brabus may be best known for its scorching hot and heavily face-lifted Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche models, but the company isn't stuck in the internal combustion world.


It began offering a dress-up package for the Tesla Roadster in 2009 - complete with a sound generator so your electric Roadster (in Germany anyhow) could sound like a V8, a screaming Formula 1 race car or an alien spaceship in warp drive.


But tuning is more than just a pretty face and while Brabus still isn't taking out the Tesla's electric motor and rewinding it for more performance, it is offering something that may be even more valuable to an EV driver - green miles.


A new offering for Teslas in Germany, the "Brabus Green Package," upgrades the facelift, offers custom paint and leather interior, new front and rear fascia, a tire-and-wheel package said to improve the Tesla's roadability and adds a 240-volt home charger and 130,000 kilometers (18,600 miles) worth of  "green" electricity  form renewable resources such as wind and solar - provided by German power utility RWE.


The Brabus Tesla package also includes one year of free access to public EV charging stations operated by RWE.


Brabus doesn't publicize its prices, so all we can tell you is that its Green Package will certainly add a lot to the $109,000 base price of a Tesla Roadster.
