The British Company, TVR of Blackpool, created three examples of the Trident. Clipper examples that followed were built by Trident Cars, Ltd., of Woodbridge, Suffolk.
The early examples were offered in two series - the Cipper which used essentially the same running gear as the AC Cobra, and the Venturer which used a British Ford three-liter V-6. Both the Trident and the Venturer had similar body shells that were designed by Fiore working with Fissore of Turin, Italy. Though similar, they did have their differences.
The entire production run of various Trident models reached 125 cars. The car displayed at the 1967 Racing car Show at Earls Court, London had several visual differences. It had a one piece nose section that opens in entirety for easy access. This design was exclusive to the first four cars.
